The magnitude of the disaster in Japan is so great as to be almost incomprehensible. It is with shock and heartsickness that I have watched the news and heard of the horrors unleashed by the massive earthquake last week. The scale of the suffering is mind-boggling.
My friend Tom Schaller has put it so well -- "As individuals, we can often feel helpless in light of such a disaster, but by joining forces through our art, we can hope to make some small difference." To this end, I am joining with a number of my friends who are auctioning their paintings, with all proceeds to go to the Japanese Red Cross.
