[...drumroll here...] Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased to present the results of our second Peeps challenge! A big thanks to Pablo for instigating the challenge this time around. You can read about his fun and zany painting on his blog. Jelaine had some technical problems, but finally joined the fun. Go to her blog for more info.

Spring peepers were a familiar part of life in Wisconsin -- their high-pitched peeps were ubiquitous in the marshy and wooded areas as winter waned and spring sprung! As I was brainstorming my challenge painting, I glanced over at my little collection of vintage tin toys and this little froggy jumped right out!! My search for the perfect piece of background fabric yielded this silly froggy medley -- can't you almost hear them peeping??

  2. Haha, Chris, that's perfect! Love the little frog amongst the peeps. Very inspired and the background is wonderful.

Pablo's Bunz are fabulous. Its left me smiling seeing the ears on the peeps. I love the lighting on it, it all works so well.

Congratulations on a 2nd Annual (I hope it continues) Peep Challenge!

  3. Absolutely wonderful, both of you! Love the cleverness of your spring peeps, Chris. I went through my own peeps phase a few weeks ago, painting 4 of the paintings just of peeps. Wish I could have been included in this challenge, I think you would have enjoyed my peeps painting, What Are We Gonna Do About Her?

Rhonda, I've been so remiss about reading blogs -- sorry I missed the posts -- just went back to look at all of them and LOVE your whole flock of Peeps paintings!! The idea for an open challenge is intriguing -- I'll talk it over with Pablo.
