Waiting in the Wings
watercolor, 12" x 12"
Chris Beck
Just finished and popped into a shipping box yesterday. Normally, I spend some time (OK -- a *lot*) looking at my finished paintings, so I feel a bit lost today. Hope these little buffoons find a congenial reception!!
Very cute, Chris. I would have wanted to spend a long time looking at this one. Nice painting!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michelle!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your entry!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deb!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck Chris, you always put a smile on my face!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Guy!! Are you and Joyce in town these days? How about coffee or lunch one of these days?
ReplyDeleteHow about when we get back? We are leaving September 11th to shoot 3 DVD's and signing a partnership contract with F&W media and ArtistNetworkTV! Did you know we moved? We have a new space in San Carlos. We love it and will have you over soon for Margaritas!
ReplyDeleteI'd seen something that you were going to be working with F+W -- how very cool!! Did not know about your move and would love to see the new place when you're back.
ReplyDeleteYour fezmatics are adorable, Chris. I laughed when your page opened to reveal the painting.
ReplyDeleteExcellent, Kathryn -- that's the reaction I'd hoped for!! Glad you enjoyed them!!
ReplyDeleteThey're just wonderful Chris! I know what you mean about missing them. I did that the other day, started looking for a painting and then realized, Oh that one is gone. You'll just have to paint some more buffoons:)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carrie -- I've got these little guys and their friends coming out of my ears -- there will definitely be companion pieces!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis piece made me smile as I opened the page this morning. Its wonderful. The composition is perfect, love these little guys. Love the circus background too. Fabulous piece.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Jeanette!! Can't tell you how pleased I am to get the feedback -- I painted this under such a time constraint that I didn't have adequate time to look at it with fresh eyes before I sent it off. It's so difficult to be objective about something when you're totally wrapped up in the painting process.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this, Chris - its one of those rare pieces that just make the world seem like a happier place. So glad you are painting/posting again!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love this painting! The "communication" between the Fezmatics and the circus background tell such a fun story! Nice to see new paintings!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Terry and Kathleen!! I'm pleased when I can lighten the mood -- the world can weigh too heavily on us much of the time.
