This week at Brush-Paper-Water...
I don't remember exactly when I became aware of Jonathan Frank's work, but I vividly recall the crispness and clarity of the images. Combining exquisitely handled watercolor washes with ink outlines, his paintings are truly "high definition" -- giving the viewer the sensation of having very acute eyesight. It's a pleasure to share his work with you.

This week at Brush-Paper-Water...
I have been aware of Gary Bukovnik's work (and an admirer) since I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 1980s, so when I had an opportunity to see him demo at the University of California Botanical Garden in Berkeley back in February, I jumped at the chance. I spent a thoroughly delightful afternoon, listening to his thoughts on art and life and watching as he painted several small rose images. It was a great pleasure to meet him and it is a great pleasure to feature him on the watercolor showcase.
Please hop over to Brush-Paper-Water for an introduction to his work and be sure to follow the link to his website for a comprehensive gallery of his work and a wonderful video interview.
