No, my friends, I'm engaging in serious domestic fun -- scrubbing the floors. Gack!! But you have to keep up appearances. At least that's what I've been telling myself for the several weeks I've been trying to talk myself into this awful task. I've also been reminding myself how great I'll feel when this is finished. (Well maybe not immediately, but after liberal use of anti-inflammatory drugs!!)
On the topic of general maintenance, I've had several emails from people telling me they're having problems viewing my blog and/or leaving comments. Some people see the blog momentarily and then it drops out. Others are fine until they click on the comments link, at which point the blog crashes. I've tried one solution that was supposed to fix this, but that must not be the whole problem. The other troubleshooting suggestions would appear to involve just about everything but performing animal sacrifices, so I haven't been eager to delve into them. However, I have removed a few of the sidebar gadgets to see if that makes any difference.

Chris, no problems viewing at all. Leaving a comment means trying twice, but heck, if you can't take an extra minute for a friend, why bother at all - and how can you call them a friend? And you have my STAND UP AND BE PROUD shout out for doing that scrubbing the floor task - ugh and yuck and ouch all at once. I should do that sometime...yeah, some...day...maybe.

ReplyDeleteChris - I did have the problem of the "crash" and was leery of posting, thought it was me (not good around electrical equipment!) - but think it's OK now - if not will let you know. Also not good around CLEANING EQUIPMENT either (veeeeery alergic to that stuff!!!!) - send me your address and I'll send you Advil!!!

I happened to think that I'd switched my comment format about the time people started having problems, so I've gone back to the way I was doing it before. This is probably no different than throwing people into volcanoes to appease the gods, but who knows?? Anyway, thanks for the Advil offer -- got me a 55 gallon drum of the stuff already!! ;-D
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, I gave in and downloaded Foxfire for blogging; was having trouble getting into numerous blogs. The type looks funny (on everyone's, including mine) but commenting through Foxfire has the added benefit of underlining in red all my typos, so hopefully I won't look like such an illiterate!!

ReplyDeleteI remembered that I'd changed the comment format about the time everybody began to have problems with my blog. I switched back to the previous format, so maybe that will help too.
