This week at Brush-Paper-Water...

Three Rivers: Red Twig
watercolor, 22" x 30"
Geoffrey McCormack

Geoffrey McCormack came to my attention a couple of years ago when he won the Best in Show award (Purchase Award with Silver Star) for this painting at the National Watercolor Society exhibition. The triptych of stones, twigs and string – part of his Three Rivers Series – stood out for its unusual subject matter and spare elegance. When I invited him to be featured on the watercolor showcase, he sent me a description of how the series came about which gives a wonderful glimpse into the workings of his artistic mind.

Please jump over to
Brush-Paper-Water to read Geoffrey's comments about the series and to see more of his work.

  3. Wow, Chris, you keep finding such great painters. If there's ever a Museum of Watercolor, you should be the curator.
